Biography

A spot of sweet Italy at the Frac this summer! Artist and exhibition curator Angelo Bianco shares his time between Milan and Matera (in the Basilicata region of southern Italy). He will be in residence in Metz during August. Since 2003 he has been artistic director of the SoutHeritage Contemporary Art Foundation in Matera, a private organization that supports the art of today, intellectual exchanges and reflection on urban development in a territory that is well away from the main economic lines of communication and cultural capitals! The Foundation holds exhibitions (Joseph Beuys, Michelagelo Pistoletto) in the permanent space, the Next Heritage gallery and the fabulous Sassi and regularly invites artists to execute site-specific projects.
